Internal External: Photo Series

I did this shoot to focus on the disparities between the inner and outer self. Whether that be how we represent false presentations of our states of mind, invisible illnesses, sexuality, gender, or masking our true selves, there’s always information about each other that we will never know. For me, blood has always been a big personal symbol for the interior self, the part that isn’t shown unless it is taken or given. Which is why I’ve chosen to use fake blood for the shoot. I wanted to highlight the uniqueness in all my models. We all have ugly truths, trauma, and individuality that most people will ever know about, and that’s what I want to convey. It’s a piece about unity in the human experience.
