The uncomfortable is familiar, and it is what I gravitate towards when I sketch. The art I make is abject in nature, and conveys what I cannot with words. In a way, anguish has become synonymous with art to me, as it has wound itself around me so tightly and engrained itself so deeply in what I create that it feels we will never be apart.
Whether it be three-dimensional media, two-dimensional works, or a combination of both, my art contains hidden stories that are told using personal and representational symbolism. These stories are not narrative in a typical sense, but are rather inspired by memories of mine that are centered around difficult times in my life, particularly ones that involved bodily trauma and hospitalizations. This body of work depicts the mass of intricate failures of my flesh, an aesthetic horror of my own design.
